Residence hall guests may park in the upper lot next to the residence hall parking area.

Academic-Year Housing

All housing at Newark is academic-year housing. Academic-year housing allows students to remain living in a residence hall or apartment between autumn and winter quarters and spring break. There is an additional charge of $100 per year for academic-year housing.

Substance- Free*

Students attending the Newark campus have the option of living in a substance-free environment. This program requires students to complete the Special Program Commitment Form. In a substance-free environment, residents and guests agree to promote the development of a healthy lifestyle by abstaining from any substance use -- including  alcohol, drugs and tobacco -- both on and off campus.

* Availability of this option is contingent upon demand.

Newark Residence Hall rooms and apartments are smoke-free environments.  Smoking may occur outside or in designated areas only.

New Students - Success Seminar

New students attending the Newark Campus have the unique opportunity to begin their career at Ohio State early by attending the Success Seminar. The Success Seminar is sponsored every autumn by the Admissions Office and is designed to prepare students for college work and help ease anxieties common among new students. On-campus housing is available for seminar participants for a minimal nightly fee. For more information regarding the seminar, please contact:

Returning Students

Please note, the number of returning students permitted to return to on-campus housing is limited. Housing will be awarded based on returning students’ grade point average.

ResNet at Newark

ResNet is a high-speed connection from your personal computer on-campus to Ohio State’s network. Any Ohio State student living in Newark campus housing can connect to the ResNet service at no additional cost. Each residence hall room or apartment is wired for ResNet.

To use ResNet, you will need at least a Pentium class PC (running Windows 95/98) or a PowerPC Macintosh (running MacOS 8.1 or later). Older machines running older operating systems may not function well with ResNet. You will also need a Network interface Card (some computers come with a card already installed). For additional information about ResNet, visit www.resnet.ohio-state.edu.

It is our goal to make our housing options accessible and safe for all students. If you have special needs for your living arrangement, please contact us to discuss your request.
